Spectral Gaps for Schrodinger Operators on Metric Graphs

Abstract

We investigate the existence and size of spectral gaps for Schrodinger operators defined on metric graphs with periodic potentials. Combining Floquet-Bloch theory with graph-theoretic estimates, we characterize conditions under which gaps open and study their dependence on edge lengths.
