The Journal of Mathematics publishes its charges openly. No fee of any kind influences an editorial decision, and inability to pay never affects whether a paper is accepted.

When a charge applies

Any charge becomes due only after a manuscript has completed peer review and has been formally accepted. Authors are told the exact amount before they are asked to commit. Rejected and withdrawn manuscripts are never charged.

What the charge covers

Where a charge applies, it covers editorial handling, similarity screening, copy-editing and typesetting, permanent hosting, persistent identifier registration and long-term preservation. The journal has no print edition and does not sell subscriptions or advertising.

Waivers

Full and partial waivers are available on request to authors without research funding, to postgraduate students who are the sole or lead author, and to authors based in low-income and lower-middle-income economies. Requests should be made to editor@recentresearch.org at the point of submission and are decided separately from the review process by staff who play no part in the editorial decision.

What the journal does not do

The journal does not offer paid fast-track review, does not charge for acceptance itself, does not solicit payment before acceptance, and does not send invoices from any address other than the editorial office.
